£25,000 to £40,000 dependant on experience (OTE £65,000)

Due to its continued growth, a successful and reputable courier company requires a Business Development Manager to attend appointments with key decision makers within SME and Corporate businesses, building relationships with them and selling the appropriate products and services. As Business Development Manager, you will be self-motivated and have the determination to close deals. The ideal candidate will have sales experience and will have previously worked with an international courier business or have the necessary knowledge.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a well-established company with ambitious growth plans. The Role:

  • Create own leads and attend own appointments
  • Attend appointments set by Telesales / Account Managers and negotiate the best deal for the company and customer
  • Attend account reviews for existing clients as required by office, extending contracts and discussing other opportunities
  • Prospect new business via referrals, networking and door knocking in the vicinity of appointments on the day
  • Follow Company procedure in respect of prospects, daily planning and communication
  • Minimise travelling distance to maximise efficiency
  • Notify office of all activity with sales pipeline and communicate with relevant department

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive sales experience (5 years) selling carrier and logistics solutions to customers
  • Strong network of strategic influencers and contacts across relevant Industry sectors Demonstrates C-suite sales skills in negotiation, objection handling and closing
  • Detailed understanding of sales process and world class sales behaviours
  • Proven track record of closing major opportunities, engaging and influencing at Board level in organisations of all sizes
  • Excellent networking skills with the ability to establish and grow relationships quickly with a natural communication style
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Able to identify and explore multiple customer agendas
  • Ability to prioritise customer needs
  • Detailed understanding of the carrier market, supply chain development and logistics
