A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Planning Analyst to join a rapidly growing business within the fibre industry.


Your role of Financial Planning Analyst will focus on supporting the Financial Planning & analysis manager and CFO in maintaining the current excel based long range investment plan, developing and improving the plan to reflect changes in the operating model and to improve efficiency and accuracy. You will also be involved in developing and maintaining a budget tracker/dashboards, trending forward material variances and feeding it back to management, daily trend analysis on operating KPIs versus budget and prior periods - acting as the early warning for negative trends and highlighting positive variance which could be exploited.


  • Responsibility for maintaining and developing the long-range investment plan
  • Building financial models to support scenario planning and business cases
  • Developing and maintaining KPI reporting
  • Monthly forecasting with timely reporting against this.
  • Tracking and reviewing the performance of investment projects
  • Working with the business to ensure we have the right information, presented in the right way, and distributed through the right medium and frequency
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience of financial modelling
  • You will also need to have previous experience in data analysis and insight
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Attention to detail / able to self-review, strong excel skills, maths and numeracy skills is a must have
  • SQL competency not essential but would be preferred
