A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Head of Operational Improvement to join a rapidly growing business within the fibre industry. You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction and performance improvement initiatives of the organisation. Working cross-functionally with subject matter experts and leaders to optimise operational processes and policies and identify processes/areas that will enable the achievement of the organisation's performance improvement goals.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifying & leading on opportunities for improvement within Operations to support our ability to scale efficiently and effectively at pace.
  • Ensures the day-to-day operations are completed in an efficient manner and in accordance with organisational policies and values.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership and prioritisation of work and resolves issues as they arise in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Develops and executes short and long-term goals for the department consistent with established organisation goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain quality and improvement activities within operations and recommend/implement changes as appropriate
  • Work cross departmentally to collaborate on solutions and recommendations
  • Teaches lessons learned and key findings with recommendations for changes and updates for training & procedures.
  • Work with external partners and leadership to identify needs.
  • Assess outcomes and obtain feedback for ongoing improvements and lessons learned.
  • Provide leadership internally on Quality Improvement related information technology initiatives and assess opportunities versus existing gaps.
  • Guide and support efforts to improve quality and validity of data, the capacity and functionality of supporting IT systems, and to incorporate technology and the effective use of data into daily operations.
  • Performs data analysis and develop formulas/approaches to assess performance; summarise findings, interpret and communicate results and propose recommendations.
  • Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Working closely with the Chief Delivery Officer and the HR function, identify people development opportunities and or gaps within the structure.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a senior Operations position, possibly Head of Operational Improvement or Operations Director / Head of.
  • Telecoms experience not essential however operating within a manufacturing, process or construction sector in a company of some scale is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, or experience equivalent.
  • Proven track record of effective business analysis, critical thinking, and effective outcomes for improvement
  • Desired Certifications include: Six Sigma or related qualification.
