Network Manager - Fibre
Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Network Manager to join an exciting business within the fibre industry. The Network Manager will take responsibility for the technical network implementation and design solutions, the management, diagnostic and resolution of network incidents, while working to strict deadlines and being flexible to meet the changing business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting the Design Standards and Methodology for the aggregation network.
- Setting the Design Standards and Methodology for the ISP interconnects.
- Setting the Design Standards and Methodology for the data centre network i.e. EMS, firewalls etc.
- Ensuring the network monitoring and alarm system is robust.
- Regression testing of new firmware and software elements of the network.
- Driving consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness within the network team.
- Delivering short, medium and long-term forecasts for all network elements in order to secure the supply chain.
- Maintaining a close working relationship with the build teams and ensuring any problems are analysed and learnings fed into future designs.
- Maintain an on-call rota to support network operations.
- Ensuring as-builts are received, checked and stored.
Essential Experience
- Degree qualified within networks.
- Previous experience in working with an ISP across the service life cycle - design build and operation.
- Supplier & vendor engagement/management.
- Network design workflow experience and HLD/LLD documentation.
- Experience in leading a technical team.
- Knowledge of Firewall and content Filter Management.
Desirable Experience
- Professional level network vendor qualification such as CCNP or JNCIP.
- Experience working with GPON/XGS-PON and passive network technologies.
