Job description

The Role
As a Plant & Fleet Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring a diverse fleet of specialist plant and lifting equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Based in a dedicated workshop environment, you will work as part of a skilled team maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment including mobile cranes, hydraulic gantry systems, HGVs, generators, and specialist lifting equipment.
This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to work on complex and specialist machinery.
Key Responsibilities
·Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of specialist equipment including mobile cranes, heavy forklifts, hydraulic gantry systems, and lifting gear
·Carry out maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers, diesel generators, lighting towers, and small plant
·Diagnose and rectify faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
·Provide breakdown support across the UK when required
·Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety, quality, and compliance standards
What We're Looking For
·Experienced Plant Mechanic with HGV experience
·Strong vehicle diagnostic experience across plant machinery, HGVs, and trailers
·Good understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations
·LPG system experience
·Experience working with overhead cranes
·Knowledge of HGV and trailer legislation, brake testing, and relevant documentation
·IRTEC qualified (HGV and/or Trailer)
·Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematic drawings
·Experience working with pneumatic air systems
·Ability to work on commercial vans and pickup trucks
·Knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems
·Experience with 3-phase electrics
·Welding and fabrication capability
·Must have own tools
·Experience working on cranes or specialist lifting equipment would be highly desirable
